3 Animal Dangers in the News Today, Carry Accidents with Moose, Eradication of Deer, Elephant Charges

October 9, 2025
Moose-vehicle crashes.
Upper Mid-Atlantic has been relatively plagued.
Moose occupied regions of the world.
Moose crossing a road or making use of a road especially for convenience.
It's pretty evident the danger of a dark colored moose at night or dark times, and white or albino similar affected (leucism, piebald, etc.) moose during matching color snow (confer Foleyet, Ontario), suddenly emerging onto a roadway, especially in slippery conditions, inclement weather, and visibility difficult, such as a blizzard, rain storm, or dense fog. Plus, moose might be 1000 to 3000 pounds.

When a car impacts these animals, typically what happens, is a severely smashed windshield, and corresponding corresponding injuries to the occupants of car.

Briefly, crashing into a moose can be almost like crashing into another small car.

Deer eradication slated.
There are deer-vehicle crashes.
In terms of the damage a deer can cause, most say it is less than moose due to the comparison in size.
Of course there are exceptions, such as a very large deer the size of small moose.

In another area, the proposals to eradicate deer have come up, such as in the
Catalina Island Conservancy in California in 2024, where a couple of thousand mule deer wee on their way to be shot from helicopters, before public opposition slowed it.
Now in 2025, out of concerns for wildfires bring started, there are plans being drawn up to shoot them from the ground instead of from the air.

Elephant trampling.
In some regions of the word, being trampled by an elephant is not exactly times last, it's still going on.
There was a recent incident in South Africa at an individual's gaming preserve; an elephant engaged in unanticipated behavior. Blunt force injuries, as they me be called, often the result without going into detail. Somewhere between over a hundred and less than a thousand elephant related deaths are estimated to occur a year.

Different kinds of damage in animal-vehicle crashes.
Ramifications or domino effects on roads after crashing into a moose, deer, or any other animal, might not be limited to just animal-vehicle impact. Other events like rear ending the car in front of another car that was suddenly stopped or in another lane due to impact (with an animal), and vehicles colliding with other vehicles the result of an unfolding incident.

Recourses, comments.
Ideas about shooting mass amounts of animals from helicopters like it was the manner of 70s warfare glamorized in the start of an 80's action TV series in prime time, has been in the public debate sphere for a range of animals. My opinions, mass shooting is a bad example, and a bad trend setter. Sending 2 or 3 of the animals or herds to different zoos, can be a solution. It might have a monetary cost. Or just move them. Fencing and herding projects. Shooting them also involves the cleanup process, which could entail additional sets of rounds of activities not in the most liked taste.
Incineration and other techniques for disposal, might, not saying for sure given region to region handling differences, be on the table.
Leaving carcasses out, might attract other carcass hungry predators like cougars to an area, which could possibly exacerbated the very same problems eradicating deer was aimed at doing. Also giving extra pounds and exercises for already large  dangerous animals to grow even larger and stronger.

Can the Era of Animal Attacks in Zoos Finally Come to an End?

September 20, 2025
There have been a number of attack incidents recently, both in people attacking animals, and animals attacking people. Instead of listing attacks and providing a brief narrative, let's look at some of the pictures and questions.

As far as I can remember, I thought part of the whole ideas of zoos is so that people can view animals safely, no matter what the kind or species. Meanwhile, the animals are situated in ways where they are protected and enabled to have a natural lifespan. Zoos could ho...

The Situation of Frequent Pit Bull Attacks Persists. Dog Sitting. Attacks on the Vulnerable, Very Young, or Very Old.

July 23, 2024
It has been about a year and a half since a post in this animal attacks blog has been made. It is with dismay that the story essentially repeats itself.
Earlier this summer, the city of Baltimore had a story about a dog attack on a woman during a clear night of enviable weather and conditions. About 9pm, perfect timing to be out on the town, Pit Bulls attack several people, the woman in her early 50s fatally while on foot.
Here is what some news sources might not tell you, but might be a part o...

Dog Attacks: Recurrent Human Fatalities Ought to Be a Thing of the Past

January 22, 2023
Centuries ago, communities, towns, and civilizations figured out that they need to fence off dangerous animals, such as lions, tigers, hyenas, and rhinos. For animals that are tougher to craft protective devices and devises, like snakes or large birds, perhaps the move was to move to a different area. Dogs are no exception. Post year 2000, the dog is generally accepted to be a human-friendly animal. However, the track record that some aspects of the dog world has established, is that some dog...

Global Animal Attack Roundup July 11th 2022 Shows Only a Handful of Kinds of Animals

July 12, 2022
Published July 11th EST
Once again, after investigating other stories outside the big ones, there are too many animal attacks to count and briefly place in one post.
What is clear is that dog accountability has got to be or become something in the wave of the future, just like cell phones. It might be a collar of some sort, identifying the owner, an electronic tracer and alert system, must be on certain dogs necks, or a nanosized (to avoid animal cruelty) mechanism be embedded somewhere on or i...

June 23, 2022
Written June 22, 2022 EST

It seems like it never ends, a saying. No matter how man precautions, are set in place, some creatures figure out how to be the embodiment of the unexpected. Of course continuing to improve safety measures is supported and encouraged.

Near an area called Lovers Point, quite scenic, a shark attacked about midmorning earlier today, Wednesday. Fortunately the victim sustained only minor injuries.

From a birds eye view, the attack, and prerequisite shark path of travel, if ...

April 29, 2022
How high is a high number when it comes to bear attacks and sightings?,- may all be held relative. Going back to the time of Florida first settlements from Europe in about the 1500s. Dog Attacks in the Limelight

March 21, 2022
There may be more to the saying dogs are man's best friend than most men today sit and discuss in ordinary banter. Nevertheless, maintaining a common sense and wise balance in precautions that should be taken, can help minimize dog attack incidents.
There are a number of websites that are devoted to animal attacks now. After reaching out, we might provide links to those resources somewhere on this blog page.
Reiterating caution number 1:
Extra cautions should be taken around very young children....

Reinforcing to Remember Bears Can Open Doors

June 26, 2020
Open doors to prosperity? Stocks in a ball team?
No- bears can physically open a door, like your house door, camping tent, car or truck door.
Keep them locked if you are inside, especially in bear territory.
Within the past few days, a bear was found pillaging the inside of a car looking for some gum drops. Reference, Pigeon Forge, TN.
The story sounds too frivol to waste writing a story about, except, recalling about a decade ago a spate in bear attacks; safe side is reinforce the advice that co...
